Dendritic cell maturation by innate lymphocytes: coordinated stimulation of innate and adaptive immunity
نویسندگان
چکیده
Pathogen recognition by Toll-like receptors (TLRs) on dendritic cells (DCs) leads to DC maturation and the initiation of adaptive immunity. Recent studies have shown that innate lymphocytes—natural killer (NK), natural killer T (NKT), and T cells—also trigger DC maturation. This interaction in turn expands and activates innate lymphocytes and initiates adaptive T cell immunity. Here, we comment on the evidence that these pathways are TLR independent and have the potential to respond to infection, malignancy, and immunotherapy.

This interaction in turn expands and activates innate lymphocytes and initiates adaptive T cell immunity. Her...
متن کاملKiller Cell Immunoglobulin-Like Receptors Influence the Innate and Adaptive Immune Responses
Natural killer (NK) cells are a subset of lymphocytes which play a crucial role in early innate immune response against infection and tumor transformation. Furthermore, they secrete interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF) prompting adaptive immu-nity. NK cells distinguish the unhealthy cells from the healthy ones through an array of cell-surface receptors. Human NK cells use inhibi...

Background and purpose: As professional antigen- presenting cells, dendritic cells are a bridge between innate and adaptive immunity by stimulating T lymphocytes. Recent research has demonstrated the extra ability of the myeloid cells plasticity into different cells in response to environmental stimuli. In the present study, the effect of using combination maturation factors (MCM, TNF-α, poly (...

The innate immune system provides many ways to quickly resist infection. The two best-studied defenses in dendritic cells (DCs) are the production of protective cytokines-like interleukin (IL)-12 and type I interferons-and the activation and expansion of innate lymphocytes. IL-12 and type I interferons influence distinct steps in the adaptive immune response of lymphocytes, including the polari...

Background: The innate and adaptive immune responses are dependent on the migration of leukocytes across endothelial cells. Dendritic cells (DCs) play an important role in the initiation of cellular immune responses during their migration from tissues into the lymph nodes where they interact with endothelial cells of lymphatic vessels. We investigated the effect...
